Between 2020 and 2022, Greenville County, South Carolina, experienced notable growth, with the population increasing to 547,950. Demographically, the population is composed of 76.1% White, 18.4% Black or African American, 2.8% Asian, and 10% Hispanic or Latino residents.

Economic opportunities abound, with industries such as accommodation and food services, health care and social assistance, transportation, and warehousing driving the local economy. In 2020, there were 14,181 employer establishments, providing 249,202 jobs and generating an annual payroll of $11,768,326,000.

Education is valued in the community, where 89.7% of residents hold at least a high school diploma and 37.9% possess a bachelor’s degree or higher. The county enjoys a relatively high homeownership rate of 68.6% and a median household income of $65,513.

Affordable living is a key feature of Greenville County, with a median owner-occupied housing value of $212,300 and a median gross rent of $1,011. Connectivity is also prioritized, with 93.4% of households owning a computer and 88.6% having access to broadband internet.

Despite these positives, challenges persist, such as the 10.9% poverty rate and the 12.3% of individuals under 65 years old without health insurance. Nevertheless, Greenville County offers a diverse and growing community with considerable economic opportunities and a high quality of life.
